Tiny Bank

About Tiny Bank

A family money-learning space with parents firmly in control

Tiny Bank turns everyday family saving into something children can see and understand. Parents keep control of every money record and approval, while children get a friendly place to follow a balance, make goals, and practise decision-making.

Purpose

Why Tiny Bank exists

Children often hear adults talk about saving, spending, allowance, and goals, but those ideas can feel abstract. Tiny Bank gives those conversations a clear visual home. A child can see a balance, compare it with a goal price, and understand that using money for one choice changes what remains for another.

The app is deliberately parent-managed. Children can plan and request, but parents control deposits, withdrawals, automatic allowances, account security, and purchase approval. That structure keeps the learning experience connected to real family guidance.

For parents and guardians

A focused parent portal for family oversight

Record money changes

Add deposits, record withdrawals, include understandable notes, and review the selected child’s activity.

Schedule allowances

Create child-specific automatic deposits that repeat weekly, every two weeks, or monthly.

Review purchase requests

Approve or decline a goal purchase only after signing in. Approval deducts the exact goal amount and archives it as Purchased.

Manage family security

Create children, reset PINs, replace a private family link, update the parent password, and remove accounts when needed.

For children

A simpler view designed around saving and planning

Personal PIN access

Each child chooses their account from the private family page and enters a four-digit PIN.

Goal planning

Create goals, see progress, understand how much more is needed, and archive ideas that are no longer active.

Ask before buying

When savings cover a goal, the child can send a purchase request. Archive and remove actions stay locked while a parent decides.

Readable activity

See deposits, withdrawals, automatic deposits, and parent-approved purchases in clear language.

Privacy and boundaries

Private by design, with clear limits

Separate family spaces

Each family account sees only its own children, balances, goals, schedules, requests, and activity.

Random child-page link

The child sign-in page uses a long random access key rather than a predictable family name. A parent can replace the link if it is shared accidentally.

Parent and child credentials stay separate

Parents use an email and password. Children use their family’s private page plus an individual PIN.

No payment processing

Tiny Bank is not connected to a bank account, debit card, payment network, investment account, or money-transfer system.

Important: Families should never place real passwords, PINs, private family links, addresses, or sensitive information about a child into public feedback messages.

Common questions

What families may want to know

Does Tiny Bank store real money?

No. Tiny Bank is a parent-managed educational ledger. The displayed balance represents what the family has decided to record.

Can a child withdraw money directly?

No. Children cannot submit withdrawals. Parents record deposits and withdrawals from the parent portal.

Can a purchase happen from an email?

No. Purchase-request emails only tell a parent to sign in. Approval and the balance deduction happen inside the authenticated parent portal.

Are goals separate pots of money?

No. Goals compare different choices with the same savings balance. They do not split the balance into separate accounts.

What happens when a purchase is approved?

The goal amount is deducted, the activity history explains the approved purchase, and the goal moves to Archives with a Purchased status.
